A seawall in Port Clyde, a 110-yard slab in Detroit, drilled shafts in Manchester, and a footing of approximately 120 yards in Saco—October’s updates covered a range of concrete work across Maine and into New Hampshire. Behind each post were the operators, contractors, and concrete suppliers involved in that day’s placement.

As October draws to a close, here’s a look back at some of the projects and people featured throughout the month.

Along the Coast: Port Clyde and Whiting

Port Clyde’s waterfront was the focus of one of our October blog features, with a closer look at the seawall construction underway there. Gene joined Wright-Ryan for the concrete placement, with Ferraiolo supplying the mix.

The seawall offered an opportunity to share more of the project beyond a daily job update, documenting a part of the work taking place along the waterfront.

Farther Downeast, Gene’s October schedule also included Whiting Dam for William P. Davis, with concrete supplied by Meadowbrook. These two projects brought waterfront and dam work into a month that also included slabs, footings, and drilled shafts.

A 110-Yard Slab in Detroit

In Detroit, Cliff’s October 20 assignment was a 110-yard slab for Lindsey Foundations. Accurate Concrete handled the finishing, and Folsom supplied the concrete.

That update captured the different responsibilities involved in a slab placement, with the contractor, finishing company, supplier, and pump operator each identified as part of the job.

Cliff’s other October stops included the Hannaford project in Lincoln for E.J. Perry, also supplied by Folsom, along with projects for McClintick Foundations in Waldoboro and Bremen, where Auburn supplied the concrete.

Drilled Shafts in New Hampshire

October’s work extended beyond Maine with Tyler in Manchester, New Hampshire, for H.B. Fleming. The placement involved drilled shafts, with Coleman supplying the concrete.

That stop added another type of construction to the month’s updates, alongside the coastal work and slab placements featured closer to home.

Contractors and Suppliers Across Maine

Several October posts followed work with Lindelof Concrete. Cliff’s Lincolnville stop and Gene’s Thomaston assignment both included concrete supplied by Mt. Waldo.

Phippsburg appeared more than once during the month, with Tyler’s assignments including 207 Concrete and McClintick Foundations. Auburn supplied the concrete for both. Tyler also had a Harpswell stop for Bob Berry, again with Auburn supplying the mix.

In Trenton, Gene’s assignment brought together Thompson Foundations and Hughes Bros. In Augusta, Gator’s October 23 stop was for BKC Concrete, with Auburn supplying the concrete.

Each update put names and locations to the work, giving readers a look at the contractors and suppliers involved across the month.

From Portland to Kingfield

The latter part of October included Tyler in Portland for Saracina Concrete, with Auburn supplying the mix.

On October 28, his day began in Searsmont for Mike Lorentzen, where Mt. Waldo brought the concrete. From there, he headed to Kingfield for JMH Excavation, with Jordan’s supplying that placement.

Those two stops took the day’s updates from the Midcoast inland to Kingfield, with a different contractor and concrete supplier at each location.

A Substantial Footing in Saco

On October 29, Cliff’s morning in Saco centered on a footing of approximately 120 cubic yards for LaJoie Bros., supplied by Auburn.

The Saco placement added another substantial pour to October’s highlights, alongside the Detroit slab, Port Clyde seawall, and Manchester drilled shafts.

Thank you to the contractors and concrete suppliers involved in this month’s work. We appreciate the opportunity to share these projects and recognize the people behind each placement. Follow our blog and social pages for more updates from the jobs ahead.
